Kaohsiung City Government together with ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd., and the ASE Environmental Sustainability Foundation, co-hosted the Southern Net-Zero Action Forum to drive forward regional sustainability and climate goals.

At the forum, ASE proposed five key initiatives — Global Trends, Green Finance, Diverse Green Energy, Circular Economy, and Emerging Net-Zero Technologies. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-Mai emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between government and industry in order to achieve the 2050 net-zero goal.
The forum centered around four core themes — low carbon, negative carbon, green energy, and circularity — and featured a joint exhibition showcasing carbon reduction technologies and results. ASE presented its plastic recycling technology, highlighting how supply chain collaboration can transform carbon reduction goals into actionable results.
ASE Kaohsiung was showcased as a model site, with achievements including a comprehensive greenhouse gas inventory and actively implementing process emission reductions, smart energy management, energy reuse, water circularity and waste minimization strategies.
Dtuang Wang, Chief Administration Officer (CAO) of ASEH, remarked that these initiatives introduced at the forum are just the beginning. With continued guidance from relevant government agencies, ASE aims to lead by example and work with partners to accelerate progress toward net-zero by 2050.
